More releases to listen to at home or with friends on the internet.

Good morning and happy Friday, y’all - we made it through another one.
It continues to strike me odd that with more time on my hands as I work from home through the day, I’ve been listening to much less music and podcasts than I usually do. I’m perpetually behind on my weekly podcasts, and though I put some good time going through a stack of favourite records yesterday, I haven’t been up on my new records.
Well, today there’s another good chunk of albums to toss on the stack, here’s my initial thoughts as I put this list together today:
Waxahatchee is the most-buzzed here I’d say, and for good reason as Katie Crutchfield (and Allison Crutchfield) have been absolutely killing it since their days in The Ackleys, and both continue to do so on the regular with their many projects.
I was a huge fan of Nap Eyes’ alt-indie-country vibes on their record Thought Rock Fish Scale but their subsequent albums never caught me in the same way; solid stuff and definitely worth listening to for sure, though. I’m stoked to get another album from them and will be checking it out today.
Wow, a new song from We Versus The Shark?! Remember We Versus The Shark??!! Just me??? Well, it’s been like 12 years since they last put out music but hey, this is very intriguing news to my ears.
Daniel Avery teams up with NIN member Alessandro Cortini for an album of droney-ambient music that sounds absolutely my speed right now. There’s a new Nicholas Jaar album today but a cursory listen revealed to me that I’m more in the mood for what Avery and Cortini are throwing down here. I’ll get to the Jaar eventually though, because they have put some stunning records out.
The new Milk Teeth also seems to fit snugly in my comfort zone of big riffs, big hooks, cathartic sing-alongs… it’s all there for me.
Anyway, I’ll leave the rest up for you to discover… let me know what you’re listening to on Twitter (or in the comments here, ya know) and hopefully you have a great Friday and weekend. Stay healthy everyone.
