Happy new music Friday!
I’ve got a playlist for you and some thoughts on releases that have caught my ear so far today below.
After thinking Beach Bunny released an EP a few weeks ago (it was actually a single), the full release of Tunnel Vision is out now. More thoughts to come in a future post, but overall it’s very solid stuff and maybe their strongest top-to-bottom release outside of the Blame Game EP.
The new Heart Attack Man album is feeling a little bit like a disappointment to me. How about you?
If you’re a fan of deathgrind, check out the new one from Caustic Wound.
For more heavy stuff, Wretched Blessing mix sludge and death metal on Psychic Barriers to Entry and Inhuman Nature have crossover thrash with groovy hardcore riffs for days on Greater Than Death.
Rodeo Boys also return with their second album of nice buzzy power pop meets indie rock on Junior.
And some stray thoughts:
Fib has familiar post-punk sound but with a twitchy melodicism that sounds appealing to me.
Care Home has a noisy rock vibe that I might check out.
BRONCHO return after 7 years or so.
Electronic and ambient/experimental fans have some stuff to sift through via DjRUM, Light-Space Modulator, Chris Brokaw, BIG|BRAVE, and others.
What are you excited to listen to? What am I missing from my list? Let me know!
As always, please reach out on the hellsite (or the newer lesser evil hellsite). Better yet join the Rosy Overdrive Discord server where I can be found now and again. You can also find me in the corners of Rate Your Music scrounging for obscure emo, hardcore, indie-rock and pop-punk.
That’s it, that’s all. Be excellent to one other.
