New Music Friday: July 26th, 2024
New day, new tunes, new playlist.
Hey everyone. Been a little while over here, I missed last Friday’s new music playlist post and have been collecting thoughts on records for a standard dispatch but figured to wait until after Friday to send it out. Look for a stack of reviews coming sometime early next week! For now, here’s what caught my ear as I dug through the new releases this morning.
The trend for me this week seems to be a lot of releases by names I’m familiar with, but nothing that I’ve heard enough to pick as a “pick of the week” yet.
The new Ben Seretan album via Tiny Engines is one for the top of my list this week, as the label has been promoting it pretty hard and I trust in their taste!
Nightshift sounds like some nice, skewed indie rock so I’m going to make time for it today as well.
Robber Robber got a nice write-up from Rosy Overdrive as well (another trustworthy source for music recommendations!) so I am adding that to my stack.
And that MAITA song just sounded really catchy! I need some catchy tunes for the weekend I feel like.
Finally, lot of the albums I’ve listed as being intrigued in hearing just happen to sit within genres I’m interested in - jazz, electronic, ambient, thrash/metal etc. so I’ll hopefully get to them eventually.
