Happy new music Friday! We’re getting to the time of year where everyone starts releasing their 2024 album lists, people start going “that’s too early to do that!!!”, rinse repeat. I will start thinking about my year-end list sometime soon but for now I’m hitting that mid-to-late November wall where I get a bit exhausted trying to keep up with releases and finding new-to-me stuff. Or maybe it’s just depression! But! I am keeping at it.
Here’s what caught my ear in the new releases this morning:
If you like electronic and other out-there stuff:
Seems to be an interesting day for the non-Rock releases, with:
60+ more minutes of instrumental hip-hop from Blockhead. Sounds like Blockhead to me (both non-derogatory and derogatory, lol).
Damu the Fudgemunk has a release in the KPM Cratediggers series where artists mine the KPM catalogue for sample fodder. I love this idea so I want to hear this, even if Blockhead’s release in the series was a bit of a let down.
Celia Hollander is not a name I’m familiar with but their album out today sounds really intriguing to me.
Human Error as well sounds like something I need to hear in full.
Yet another name I don’t know, Christoph De Babalon, but their dark-ambient slash jungle/dnb sounds good to me.
If you like indie rock:
Sucio sounds like it will scratch an itch for emo fans.
Kim Deal has a solo album out today.
Plus albums from Cistern, Natural Velvet, Vista House, Luna Honey and more.
What are you excited to listen to? What am I missing from my list? Let me know!
As always, please reach out on the hellsite (or the newer lesser evil hellsite). Better yet join the Rosy Overdrive Discord server where I can be found now and again. You can also find me in the corners of Rate Your Music scrounging for obscure emo, hardcore, indie-rock and pop-punk.

New Vista House you say? Fantastic! Need to dig into that one today.
You've got me curious about Christoph de Babalon! And I'm psyched that the new Father John Misty is finally out. Also, Karaoke Moon by Warhaus and the Transa compilation both have interesting things going on, yet it remains to be seen if the parts or the sum will be more satisfying.
