Happy new music Friday! Hope you’re having a good week. Not a lot to update here, except that I seem to be getting new followers and subscribers at a nice and slow but steady pace. Glad to have you here!

Here’s some stray thoughts as I organize my listening day:

Have been a big fan of the previous Chat Pile releases, so I’m prioritizing their latest one Cool World this morning.
I’m not as ravenous a fan of Touché Amoré as some people, but they’re definitely one of those bands I dig and will check out whatever they release.
Some new to me stuff that caught my ear:
- Mutant Academy sounds like some good hip hop to me, and the Quelle Chris feature seals the deal.
- Stumbled across this Idiot album in the new release bin this morning, has a punk-by-way-of-noise-rock thing going on. Sounds intriguing.
- o’summer vacation are listed as art punk / noise stuff from Japan, sounds right up my alley so far.
- The Lipschitz has a bit of an art / egg punk thing going on, skewed indie rock and noodly synths. Some of the dueling vocals remind me a pinch of the now-defunct Richmond band VCR.
- Black Ends describe themselves as “gunk pop”, so I should probably hear what that’s all about.
