Overwhelming.
A mixtape for 2020/04/23

Happy almost Friday y’all.
Two posts in one week? What am I, some kind of… music… listening-to… person?????
Anyway, here’s a mixtape! It’s got a few different things going on in there, but I tried to maintain some semblance of aural relevancy.
Some quick thoughts on inclusions:
I really need to give the Wombo album some more time, because this track Sad World really screamed “put me near the beginning of this mixtape!” and I feel like it worked out well.
This Stormo EP was tweeted at me by twitter user (and artist! they did my logo!) Stolen Chapstick and holy moly this record is really, really solid. Lead-off track Cigar immediately grabbed me with its catchy guitar lines and vocal hooks. The whole EP is a good time and I urge fans of slowcore/indie-rock kind of vibes to check it out. Also made me think a little bit of Peaer and Crumb in certain ways. Very cool!
A couple tracks here from my 1980-rabbit-hole, including a wonderful cover of Last Train to Clarksville by PLASTICS.
Have you heard the Soul Jazz compilation album No Seattle:
Forgotten Sounds Of the North-West Grunge Era 1986-97? Because it really rules.
That’s it for now - please let me know in the comments what you are listening to, how you’ve been holding up, and more! Or hit me up on Twitter.
