Some Nerve.
A mixtape for 2020-07-28

This mixtape came together pretty quickly - after a few weeks of consistent music discovery for me, I decided what would hit the spot is a mix of often-aggressive tunes punctuated with some hits of sweet sweet melody. Here’s a few quick thoughts before you hit play on about 35 minutes of music:
Between the Mortality Rate, Sharptooth, Entry, Greyhound and Laffing Gas albums, I’ve been on a roll with the post-hardcore/punk discoveries. I think after listening to a few of my heavy favourites from 2019, the Spotify algorithm caught on and surfaced a few in my Recommended For You tab. Anyway, I’m super into all of those records
Time Thieves and Supermilk are scratching the pop-itch for me right now
No one is talking about the Oldeye EP and it’s a real shame… damn that’s a satisfying 16 minutes of music
The Raging Nathans might scare off the anti-pop-punk group, but hoping the Laffing Gas track will get ‘em back on board
What’s up with this collection of Dollhands tracks? They’re mixed this way and that (it’s a collection of demos and unreleased material after all) but their hazy vibe keeps me hooked. Totally new to me but I’m into it
Here’s the mixtape - let me know what you think on Twitter.
