I first saw Blood Incantation in Vancouver during Covenant Fest about 6 or 7 years ago. Totally gobbled it up and it's been cool seeing where they've taken things. I didn't pay much attention to the past few releases even though I understood where they were mutating. What stands out to me in this new album is less 'wow, how are they pulling this altogether' and more 'holy shit, they've made this marriage seamless'. I was talking with a friend from another intensely complex death metal band about how great their composition has gotten. For me, every twist and turn makes the kind of sense that it doesn't even feel alarming. I love that they collaborate with Tangerine Dream—the second weirdest TG-adjacent collaboration after Mayhem and Conrad Schnitzler.
Yeah I might need to give it time and try and absorb it a few more times. My initial reaction was definitely that I liked the synth stuff a lot more than their death metal parts.
Loved that Tiny Stills album!
awesome!! it’s really solid stuff
That Torch Song LP is goooood! I'll take all of that ya got. I'm spinning it in rural WI, and it seems almost subversive in a weird way.
right? that was a real nice find. I need to listen to some more of their stuff for sure.

The synth stuff is so good, and I get the sense what they're interested in more.
I really like the new origami angel. At first I thiught it was missing some Math but found it to be catchier
that's totally fair! I do usually find at least a couple songs per album by them that I end up really addicted to. I'm hoping this one grows on me.
